Svartkonstboken i Skövde
1945 lämnade en kvinna vid namn Alma Larsson över en handskriven bok till Skövds Hembygds- och Fornminnesförening. Boken var en så kallad svartkonstbok och det är okänt hur hon fått tag i boken vars ägare Jonas Tjäder aldrig identifierades.
En svartkonstbok innehåller oftast en samling av trollformler och recept så att ägaren med hjälp av magi kan frammana saker man vill ha, eller personer man åtrår. Det kan till exempel gälla en skatt med pengar, tur i kärlek, skydd mot onda andar, spöken eller bot mot sjukdomar.
Författaren till svartkonstboken i Skövde hette Isac Friberg och var en präst utbildad i Lund. Han föddes 1736 i Sundserud i Melleruds kommun och prästvigdes 1776.
1777 anklagades Friberg för att ha sålt en svartkonstbok till en bonde i Malmö som tyckte den var obrukbar. Boken hade följande titel: Vinculum Infernorum ”eller underrättelse om för dolda skatters framskaffande genom orena andars tillhjelp”.

Lägg en Swaletunga i din mun. Kyss henne så sker det.
Att blifwa osynlig
Tag en stor förgiftad groda, stick hennes wänstra öga ut, tag en ärta sätt den i det utstungna ögat och graf hene sedan ned i jorden, der af upwäxer en ärteref med ärter på, af dem tag en och lägg under tungan så blir du osynlig.
At alltid vinna uti spelande
Tag en nåhl som ett lik är insytt med, och sätt den under bordet så winner du.
Att få goda hästar
Tag 3 lortar på en annans dynghög brän dem i stallet på en sten, gif hästarna det in i hafre, på en Söndagsmorgon innan Solen upgår. Eller också gif dem qwinomjölk i hafre.
Enligt tradition så kan ägaren till en svartkonstbok som hinner avlida innan denne hunnit göra sig av med boken aldrig få ro i sin själ. Detta är en anledning till att det finns så få svartkonstböcker kvar idag, de flesta har helt enkelt bränts upp.

The Black Arts book of Skövde
In 1945, a woman named Alma Larsson handed over a handwritten book to Skövdes Antiquities Association. It was a book of the black arts and it is unknown how she got hold of the book and the former owner, Jonas Tjäder, was never identified.
A book of the black arts usually contains a collection of spells and recipes that the owner can use for magic purposes, to conjure up things he or she wants. For example, it can apply to a treasure, luck in love, protection against evil spirits and ghosts or a cure for diseases.
The author of the black art book in Skövde was called Isac Friberg and was a priest educated in Lund. He was born in 1736 in Sundserud in Mellerud municipality and was ordained a priest in 1776.
In 1777, Friberg was accused of having sold a black art book to a farmer in Malmö who thought it was useless. The book had the following title: Vinculum Infernorum “or information about the procurement of hidden treasures through the help of unclean spirits”.

To trick women into saying everything they know
Put a swallow’s tongue in your mouth. Kiss her and it will happen.
To become invisible
Take a large poisoned frog, poke out its left eye. Take a pea, put it in the poked out eye and then dig it into the ground, from which grows a plant with peas on it, take one of them and put it under your tongue and you will become invisible .
To always win in gambling
Take a needle that has been used to sow in a corpse, and put it under the table and you win.
To get good horses
Take 3 pieces of shit on someone else’s dung heap, burn them in the stable on a rock, feed the horses with these mixed with oats, on a Sunday morning before the sun rises. Or give them womens milk in oats.
According to tradition, the owner of a black art book who dies before he has time to get rid of the book can never find peace in his soul. This is one reason why there are so few black art books left today, most have simply been burned.
